ALANN III
SINGLE CHANNEL CONFIGURATION
The new ALANN III (ALarm ANNunciator) is powered by Alert Control Technologies’ “Multi-function Microprocessor Board”. Any type of dry contact sensor such as a pressure, temperature, level or flow switch can be connected to the ALANN III. The connection to the sensors is supervised and an indicator LED will alert the operator when an alarm condition occurs.
To choose an operation mode, simply move a jumper on the microprocessor board and a unit can be configured to act as an ALANN III or as an E-Pilot (refer to the E-Pilot brochure for details). In either configuration, the unit can operate in Normal shutdown and Manual Reset Mode, or Automatic Restart Mode where the solenoid valve is pulsed open or closed based on the status of the field input.
When an abnormal condition is sensed by the board, the ALANN III trips a solenoid valve, initiating a shutdown. To reset the device when in Normal shutdown and Manual Reset Mode, the operator pushes the ‘Reset’ button to return the solenoid valve to an ‘armed’ condition. An on-board, latching relay provides a signal for an auxiliary device such as a radio, telephone dialer or annunciator.
Solar powered with battery backup, this unit is extremely rugged and can operate for
several weeks without sunlight!
